Paulina Lopez Shows Floral Inspired Feminine Designs at Couture Fashion Week New York
Designer Paulina Lopez made her New York debut at Couture Fashion Week on Sunday, February 14, 2010. The fashion show was held in the legendary Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria on Park Avenue, New York City.
Ms. Lopez's latest collection is entitled "Celebration 2010" and is inspired by the designer's joy in creating unforgettable styles for special occasions. A fundamental element of Ms. Lopez's signature style is her experimentation with hand stitching giving unique life and body to her designs. In this collection, the designer strives to convey the idea that women are like flowers. Flowers entice the senses, evoking elegance and self-confidence in harmony with the feminine form - an invitation to experience a greater celebration. The silhouettes of the dresses literally translate the natural shapes of flowers. A rich color palette including marine blue, black, beige and gray is enhanced with decorative embroidery and finishings adding shine and textural depth.

A native of Mexico, Ms. Lopez earned her degree in textile and fashion design at the Iberoamericana University in Mexico City. She went on to study at the Maragoni Institute in Milan as well as at Central Saint Martin's Art College in London. Today she heads her own fashion fashion house in Mexico City. The label offers four major lines:
