Jewelry Designer Kendra
Roberts Brings Timeless Beauty to the New York Runway
New York-based
jewelry designer
Kendra Roberts will
present her latest collection
of custom and
one-of-a-kind jewellery for both men and women this Fall in New York City. Part of Couture Fashion Week® produced by USA International Fashion Shows®, the
runway presentation will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at
West Side Loft, 336 West 37th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues).

Kendra
Studio Jewellery is a gorgeous, sexy line depicting a magnificent blend of
the Native American techniques of mosaic stone and shell inlay with the
simple elegance of contemporary design. Each stone is hand-cut and
hand-polished, making no two pieces identical. The designs of Kendra
Studio Jewellery clearly display the artist's love affair with colors,
including a dynamic palette of stones from the bright blues and greens of
turquoise to the subtle, feminine pinks of abalone shell and mother of
pearl, as well as the vibrant red of coral and spiny oyster shell and the
regal look of lapis and amethyst. Upon commission, Kendra also works
wonders with the majestic beauty that lies within each cut of opal, adding
a touch of elegance and charm to that special piece of wearable, original
art.
Kendra Studio Jewellery represents a very
unique kind of vision. Her
KSJ line represents several varied themes: repeated
geometric patterns as seen in ancient artwork as well as those found in natural,
organic patterns such as leaves, feathers, fish fins and coral reef. |
Her most recent inspiration was awakened during
recent trips when she came face-to-face with the bold Mayan ruins of
Guatemala and witnessed the soothing
beauty of life under the sea in Belize. Each piece adorns the body with the same
mysterious wonder and splendor as the earth and sea objects from which they were
inspired and created.
Kendra Studio Jewellery has been seen on
Ethan Hawke, Eva LaRue and Rachel Campos to name a few.

Aquino. "Her work is stylish and smart, with perfect color combinations,
numerous well-assembled intricate shapes in a variety of stones and
materials, giving her creative art an international couture appeal."

Kendra Roberts received her Master’s
of Design in Silversmithing and Jewellery design
from the
Glasgow School of Art and a BA in fine art from
DePauw
University. Her work has been nationally and internationally exhibited in
cities such as New York, Denver, Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago,
Indianapolis and Glasgow, Scotland. Kendra Studio Jewellery will be
featured in the July 2005 Issue of Art Jewelry magazine. Her work
has also been seen on the cover of Catalina magazine, the New
York Daily News "Viva NY" section, as well as in People En Espanol.
KSJ has also been seen on the runway in as part USA International Fashion
Shows' "Champagne Fashion Brunch®"
series in New York City, as well as during Fashion Week in Los
Angeles. Currently, her work can be found in BIO, a funky-chic boutique in
SoHo, downtown New York. She has won numerous awards nationally and is a
featured exhibitor on Silverhawk.com. Her mentors include Jesse Monongya
and Roger Wilbur. Kendra has also taught
metalsmithing classes at the Indianapolis Art Center, Ghost Ranch Conference
Center in New Mexico and at the
92nd Street Y in New York City. |
