Impeccably Crafted Creations from Anna Osmushkina to be Shown During New York's Couture Fashion Week

Acclaimed Latvian couture designer Anna Osmushkina will present her latest creations in New York City on Wednesday, September 7, 2005. Part of Couture Fashion Week® produced by USA International Fashion Shows®, the runway fashion show will be held at 8:00 p.m. at West Side Loft, 336 West 37th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues). An afterparty will follow.

This gifted designer's classic yet cutting-edge style is characterized by straight lines, soft silhouettes, and exquisite tailoring rendered in the finest available European fabrics as well as high quality furs and leathers. "The Anna Osmushkina Fashion House is the most important Latvian and Baltic concern in the field of haute couture," the renowned Italian fashion magazine Collezioni declared in 2004.

Entitled "Heaven", Anna Osmushkina's Spring/Summer 2006 couture collection is a set of weightless designs in natural silks, taffeta and terry threads, hand-woven using an original technology. Embellishments in Swarovski and Kornelius precious stones, ostrich feathers, natural furs give added dimension and luxury. The color palette is as airy as the dawn in shades of gold, bronze, rose, sky blue and white. Handcrafted shawls and capes complete a number of the graceful feminine ensembles.

Anna Osmushkina's fashion design career began over 20 years ago with the prestigious Rigas Modes fashion house. She launched her own label in 1990 and her couture line in 1996. In 1999, branches were established in Europe, the USA and Arabian countries. Anna Osmushkina's flagship boutique is located in Riga and her clientele includes government and business leaders, artists, celebrities and dignitaries from around the world. Her collections have been presented at Milan's Fashion Week (Milano Moda Donna), as well as in Paris, Dusseldorf, Moscow, and Riga and hers is the first Baltic fashion house to enter into licensing agreements for the international market. Signature accessories and perfume lines are in development.

Anna Osmushkina's designs have been featured in Collezioni Haute Couture, Bookmoda Haute Couture, Paris-based Fashion TV (FTV), Moda Donna, The Observer Magazine (UK), Figaro Magazine and Liberation (France), Berliner Zeitung and Stern (Germany), Poland Monthly magazine, and the San Francisco Chronicle, among other publications. In 2004, Anna was included in the Grand Edition of 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century by the Awards Board of International Biographical Center of Cambridge, England recognizing her achievements in her field and her positive impact on society. She was also nominated for the prestigious 2004 Woman of the Year award by the American Biographical Institute (ABI).

"My goal is to allow the women who wear my designs to refine their own unique style through my clothing, without becoming fashion victims," says Anna Osmushkina. The motto behind her collections is "Woman Rules the World."
