The latest handcrafted collection of couture fashion creations by talented designer Silva Levit will be presented as part of Couture Fashion Week Saturday February 9, 2007 at 9 p.m.. The prestigious upscale fashion event will be held at the world famous Waldorf-Astoria, 301 Park Avenue (between 49th and 50th Streets), New York City.
A native of the Eastern European nation of Moldova, Ms. Levit trained and worked for 15 years with some of Europe's most gifted dressmakers in exclusive custom salons and studios before immigrating to the United States in 1993. She launched her own signature line, "Silva Fashions", soon thereafter. Ms. Levit has also worked on numerous projects for The Limited Brands, created and developed various block patterns for Lane Bryant, as well as creating original samples for Victoria's Secret, Casique and Mast Industries.
"My goal is to refine my client's personal style without turning her into a fashion victim," says Ms. Levit.
Silva Levit's designs range from casual attire to funky sexy club-wear to elegant evening and holiday wear to South Beach-inspired party dresses in deep colors and interesting textural combinations. But by far her favorite items include long fabulous coats, elegant and feminine, flared at the bottom, which she has made into her signature item. Constantly looking for new creative challenges, Ms. Levit is not afraid to experiment with all kinds of fabrics: silk, chiffon, satin, taffeta, leather, faux fur, and more.
Silva Levit's unique, one-of-a-kind garments, executed with exceptionally high standards of quality and superb European dressmaking techniques, are rapidly becoming favorites of a discerning and expanding clientele.
