Australian Milliner Miranda Green Takes New York by Storm

From the fashion runway to New York's city streets -- everywhere Miranda Green's team went or her hats were showed drew mega attention in September 2006. Grinning members of New York's finest lined up on 47th Street and Park Avenue to be photographed with models wearing the stunning hats. At the Champagne Fashion Brunch, members of the United States Marine Corps, resplendent in their dazzling white uniforms, escorted models in black gowns and colorful hats down the runway.

Ms. Green's millinery designs are crafted to accentuate a woman’s individuality and style, ranging from classic, feminine or funky, to works of art with sculptural lines designed for the fantasy world of the catwalk.  Miranda Green is prolific, intense and versatile in her creations. Her debut runway show was held at the trendy West Side Loft in Manhattan's garment district as part of Couture Fashion Week. (See photos from the show). A second show took place as part of the Champagne Fashion Brunch at La Prima Donna in New York's theater district. At the latter show, one of Ms. Green's creations was raffled and won by a lucky aspiring young fashion designer in the audience that day.

Ms. Green's hats were presented again at New York's famous Waldorf-Astoria, this time accessorizing a collection of chic cocktail dresses designed by fashion show producer Andres Aquino.  Meanwhile, the designer herself was manning a table at the entrance to the elegant Empire Room conducting a book signing of her newly-released volume entitled A Milliner’s Tale, a beautiful coffee table book full of colorful photos showcasing her stunning millinery creations. The day before, another well-attended book signing was held at Samuels Hat Shop in lower Manhattan.

During her sojourn in New York City, Miranda Green held numerous interviews and photo shoots. She also loves photography and one will find her often with a camera in her hand documenting the events around her. Miranda Green is global in her approach and her hats are now available in several continents.
