In
September 2006, the elegance and luxury of Couture Fashion Week in New York City
will be the setting for a spectacular runway show of the latest collection and
New York debut of cutting-edge Czech designer Josef Klir. The fashion show
will be held at 7:30
p.m. on Friday, 8 September at the world famous Waldorf-Astoria, Empire Room,
301 Park Avenue (between 49th and 50th Streets),
New York City.
A true couture fashion treat is on tap
for the attending audience at the show which will feature a dramatic color
palette of midnight blue, crisp white, turquoise, jet black, vibrant red,
and deep purple. Highly original designs are brought to life in fabrics such as
sateen, silk, chiffon and tulle with unexpected touches of denim.
Since embarking on his career in 1990 after graduating from his country's most prestigious fashion design school, Josef Klir has rapidly risen to the top of his field and become widely recognized as an icon in the Czech fashion world. Mr. Klir has lent his prodigious talents to such diverse projects as designing gowns for beauty queens like Miss Slovak Universe and Miss Czech Republic; creating costumes for the music video of famous girl band Black Milk; working on the presentation of the Christian Dior collection in Prague; designing costumes for films by famous Czech movie director Zdenek Troska; and creating the costumes for the Czech version of the American Idol television program. He has shown his collections during Prague Fashion Week, where he has become known for his theatrical presentations, and has twice been named Designer of the Year in bridal design competitions.
Josef Klir's innovative clothing and accessories designs are currently available in selective stores in the Czech and Slovak Republics, as well as through his flagship salon in Prague.
