Fashion with a Cause

A fourth generation designer and seamstress, Patricia Mills began making clothes for herself and sketching appliqués for her baby sister's clothes at an early age. After taking classes for gifted art students at the Detroit Art Institute, Patricia entered Wayne State University where she studied basic design, abstract, and non-representational art along with fashion design. Her studies to receive her esthetician's license gave her an insight into anatomy and inner beauty, while her couture apprenticeship with designer Tulay from Greece was an invaluable experience in the fashion field.

Patricia's stunning designs are reminiscent of the Golden Age of Hollywood, unapologetically glamorous with a 21st century flair. Her elegant signature evening and wedding gowns incorporate hand painted brush strokes and detailing.

As a legacy to her sister who succumbed to the devaststaing disease sarcoidosis, Patricia has partnered with the American Lung Association of Northern Ohio to create the Celia Mills Sarcoidosis Research Fund. Through her service on the charity's advisory board and the contribution of her talents as a fashion designer to fundraising efforts, Patricia hopes a cure will soon be found for this dreadful disease from which she also suffers.
