Edwing D'Angelo to Present Latest Collection of Elegance and Romance at Couture Fashion Week
New York-based fashion designer Edwing D'Angelo will present his latest collection at Couture Fashion Week in New York City on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. The fashion show will be held in the legendary Grand Ballroom of the world-famous Waldorf Astoria hotel on the city's legendary Park Avenue.
Mr. D'Angelo's Fall 2010 collection is elegant and romantic inspired by the New York City of the 1940's and 50's. Luxurious fabrics such as satin, chiffon, silk, organza and fine Italian wool are used in the designs that embody chic style and sophistication.
A native of Colombia, Edwing D'Angelo caters to a fashion-savvy clientele from his Manhattan atelier with designs characterized by detailed skilled construction and sensibility. D’Angelo has been featured in such publications as the New York Post, New York Daily News, Essence, WWD, MetroPop, Latina and Next. His designs have appeared in films including The Devil Wears Prada and Dirty Laundry, and he has served as fashion consultant for the BET Music Awards, Univision, Telemundo, MTV, VH1, CBS, ABC and Full Frontal Fashion, among others. He was the custom designer for the Super Bowl XL Pepsi commercial and Reebok chose D’Angelo to re-design its sportswear for violin siren, Miri Ben-Ari, in her I AM campaign.
Edwing D'Angelo is a favorite designer of many of today's top celebrities including Vivica A. Fox, Patti LaBelle, Lil' Kim, Paula Garces, Nelly, Sean Paul, Wynona Judd, Mo'Nique, Amy Spangler, Rosa Blasi, Tia Texada and Tony Award nominee Laurie Metcalf to name a few.
Couture Fashion Week is a multi-day event showcasing couture and luxury fashion. It also includes exhibits of luxury brands and fine art as well as world-class entertainment and receptions. The event is held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City and occasionally in other selected cities and is attended by upscale consumers, invited VIPs, the press and high-end store buyers.
