Couture Fashion Week Producer Andres Aquino Receives Prestige Award International in Curacao
In recognition for his contributions to the fashion industry, Andres Aquino was recently presented with the Prestige Award International by the Curacao Beauty Organization. The presentation was made during a week of contests, entertainment and activities associated with the Miss Curacao Teenager pageant, which is organized by the Curacao Beauty Organization.
Mr. Aquino, who is the founder and producer of Couture Fashion Week, Bridal Fashion Week and other fashion events, also served on the the panel of judges for the Miss Curacao Teenager pageant. Upon his arrival on the beautiful Caribbean island, he was enthusiastically greeted at the airport by Miss Curacao Teenager 2006, Gianni Webster, and the group of contestants for the 2007 title. While in Curacao, Mr. Aquino conducted a series of radio, TV and newspaper interviews about Couture Fashion Week.
"I was honored to be presented with this award, and was impressed with the professionalism and caliber of the events in Curacao," said Andres Aquino. "The organizers as well as all the people I met were warm and hospitable, and I am looking forward to working with them on future projects."
Newly crowned Miss Curacao Teenager 2007, Laurien Angelista, will model on the runway during Couture Fashion Week in September 2007 in New York City.
Part of the Miss Curacao Teenager pageant was the "Model Look" competition, which named Ms. Angelista as the winner, Darlyn Espinosa as the first runner up and Tiffany Josefa as second runner up.
During a press conference, the president of the Curacao Beauty Organization, Mr. Aubrey America, and Ms. Geraldine Stuart, Director of International Relations, were appointed as representatives of Couture Fashion Week in Curacao, working to promote the event and assist in the staging of couture fashion shows on the island.
Couture Fashion Week and Bridal Fashion Week are multi-day events showcasing luxury couture and fine fashion including eveningwear, elegant fashion, couture bridal as well as accessories. Attendees include upscale consumers, invited VIPs, the press and selected high-end store buyers. The events also include exhibits of luxury brands as well as entertainment and networking cocktail and after-parties. Venues include the world-famous Waldorf-Astoria and St. Regis Hotels in New York City.
